We are a young AgTech company. We try to understand, analyze and do differently, innovating what has never been done because we believe that tomorrow will require new skills to face new challenges:
The co-founders of Eiwa, Nicolas Otamendi and Marcelo Gowland, have known each other since kindergarten. Based on a long-standing friendship and having worked in different functions in their respective family businesses, the idea arose to become partners to build a business that would have a positive global impact, with the implementation of digital technologies.
Despite the family history in agriculture, they took a strategic approach to learn which industries would be suitable and would use the maximum benefit from the digitization of their processes. The three main industries analyzed were Health, Energy and Agriculture.
A decision was made to focus on agriculture based on the impact that digitization could have at a local and global level.
In 2014, Eiwa began with Nico and Marcelo traveling through various agricultural regions of Argentina, to better understand the challenges faced by the sector. When interacting with farmers, suppliers of inputs, retailers and others, it was clear that the initial stages of the value chain (Research & Development) were the starting point.
Since then, Eiwa has developed a platform and algorithms to improve data acquisition, data analysis and data visualization for producers of seeds and agricultural inputs, reaching in a short period of time the impressive mark of managing 70% of soybean germplasm from Argentina, Brazil and USA.
Nicolas continues as CEO of Eiwa, leading a team of specialists, engineers, developers and management, supporting the growing number of clients in North America and Latin America.
